I'm interested in kiting Port Renfrew. Could someone give me an idea where to go exactly, what wind direction, other tips?

Thanks. :D

drive into renfrew and turn right at the 1st intersection before the ambulance station....drive over the bridge and then pick a spot on the beach.......best spot depends on wind direction.....adventure a little....my favorite so far is to take the first left after you cross the bridge.......great camping too.......west.... thermals pretty much guaranteed on sunny days like nitinat.... : [smilie=biggun.gif] [smilie=bang.gif]

:D Renfrew is best just after the Weather improves..Later in the summer the wind blows the FOG right in as far as Fairy lake...A great A.M. side trip is to paddle from Renfrew up the river to Fairy lake and back (high tide!)...The wind shows up late in the A.M. like Nitinat only lighter and sometimes you get Huge holes.....
Thermals are good.

renfrew camping/sailing/kiting

If you go, park behind a log or something protective, take some earplugs and don't take the kids on the weekend......the place crawls with drunk driving a!!holes on occasion, doing doughnuts next to parked vehicles/tents. :x

Once across the bridge, for another spot keep going right through the village of sorts, then turn left at the river. Fresh water is great (coolish though) and wildlife viewing just across the river....saw deer, eagle, bears, racoons, otter in one hour, awesome scenery!! Take a crab pot!! Cold mornings, colder than nitinat, yes, the fog!! Truly awesome beach/ space for launching kites, little tough to get out maybe with onshore.

The local band will try and collect fees lateron in summer.

Sailing: take floaty board, big kite or sail, wind seems stronger near NW end of beach by river. Watch your fin near river delta if sailing. Happy kiting/sailing/camping.
Wish less, sail more!!
