Slats: Sandy, It would be great to have a solid launch spot there. Would it help your cause if we all signed a support petition that you could take to the mayor showing all the touristo dollars that flow in as a result? - Wednesday May 22, 7:57AM
Kayakdoc: Sandy, I hope the city recognizes your extraordinary efforts to bring wind sports to Port Alberni and continues your leasing arrangements. Keep us updated. - Tuesday May 21, 10:19PM
Sandy Beach: KD: it's like your review of Canal Beach in yr one, 'Phoenix Rising from the ashes'. Thx for all the ongoing wind supports!:) - Tuesday May 21, 7:20PM
Sandy Beach: KD:I remember the feat of you kiting the outflow in PA. Always pushing the limits!:) Great times. City has now moved the log salvage operator downwind (after 3 yrs of sharing the space) and most recent news is city will be 'renovating' and cleaning up the site to make it more safe and public beach-like. 'Under construction' and closed at the moment. The Canal Beach Posse is hoping for a wind-friendly launch area once the construction is completed (timeline unknown). - Tuesday May 21, 7:17PM

Kayakdoc: Otlunch. Thanks for the video share; a modern day escape to paradise. For a long distance tour like the Baja trip the biggest issue is carrying fresh water. I do not know if you can carry enough water and food for a few days on your back. It might be possible to baffle the board, but it might make it unwieldy. - Tuesday May 21, 6:01PM
Kayakdoc: Thanks Sandy. I hope I get to kite with the PA/Canal Beach Posse soon. - Tuesday May 21, 5:53PM
Sandy Beach: Kayakdoc, Awesome downwinder journey! Thx for posting your 3 hr tour with yeahmon in your session review :) Incredible that your phone will work out in the strait and mine doesn't even work on the beach at Gordon's or Cook! I need a new plan lol. Good reading, thx for share:) - Tuesday May 21, 5:23PM

Yeahmon: nice one Colin,a friend in Cabarete raves of the offshore wind peelers down that coast, next year I want to go. - Tuesday May 21, 4:00PM
Kayakdoc: I think the ultimate would be a trip from San Felipe to La Paz on the inside of the Baja Peninsula (1000 miles). I have kayaked this and it is spectacular. There is a prevailing wind from the north beginning in October. Food and water could be an issue for the first 150 miles, but it could be sorted. I think trips like this by kite are coming. - Tuesday May 21, 3:35PM
Colin: A couple of my buddies and I did a 34 mile down winder along desolate wave spattered Peruvian coastline in November. Finish line was our beach front patio full of beers and gourmet food. - Tuesday May 21, 3:19PM
Jl: Thanks for sharing that yeamon. - Tuesday May 21, 12:40PM
