+1 for strava. It works with either the iphone or the iwatch. It burns the watch battery down after 2-3 hours though, so the phone works better for longer sessions. I've posted some speed runs GPX exported from strava to https://www.gps-foilsurfing.com/ or https://www.gps-speedsurfing.com/. The runs...

sails

AJ, with respect to sails, yes try your cammed 5.1! The wave sails lack the low end power that is nice on the foil. Since the foil is more efficient, there is less force (less apparent wind) required to keep it flying and the wave sails tend to flatten out once you are flying. I didn't like the digi...

I saw the guy and the board separated near the beach Saturday and then saw him on the beach with help just downwind from the wsurf launch. I can confirm his board was white if that helps.

back straps

Depending on the foil combo I'll use the back straps. But yes, generally I use them upwind, and any other point of sail I'm out of the back strap. The balance point on my board seems to be forward and I'm often sailing with more sail than I have courage, so I'm sheeted out (unhooked) a lot and that ...

I joined the Flog Life

Bought a starboard 122 and foil 2 weeks ago and sailed it for the first time labour day weekend at Nitinat. Hooked! Mindblowingly fun! Suffering from withdrawal this weekend. Glad to hear you've been well taken care of Tempy!
Cheers

I stopped to see if anyone was inside around 6pm. Did the guy get his truck out? When I stopped, someone heading toward Nitinat wanted to know what make of truck it was. Scoping out the salvage possibilities I guess. The vultures were already descending. I hope everything was still in the truck that...

Found: mast base and fin

Found the mast base on a log a couple campsites upwind of the bulletin board mid July. Fin found among the logs in front of the day-use area after August long weekend. If you lost these items post here or PM me.

I built a ~2.0 by cutting down an old 5.0. Used a broken narrow grip chinook boom and shortened the other arm to match. For the mast I used the top half of my carbon 370. We're not talking very pretty from a shape and balance point of view, but my boys 8 and 6 are sailing in < 10 knots. You don't ne...
